Dwight Hall is Yale’s Center for Public Service and Social Justice. From First-Years in Support of New Haven and partnerships with NHPS to programs in local prisons and summer fellowship funding, Dwight Hall offers so many amazing ways to get involved. Look out for the Dwight Hall Club Fair in the fall.
Community Management Teams (CMTs) are monthly public forums where neighbors meet to discuss community issues and opportunities. The Downtown Wooster Square CMT, which includes Ward 1, meets the 3rd Tuesday of the month at 6 pm at City Hall.
The city has over 45 boards and commissions, many of which have open seats. I’ve heard directly from people at city hall that they would love to see more young people serving. Whether you’re interested in zoning, ethics, libraries, or parks, there is a city board or commission for you!
